There are individuals out there claiming to work for us in the hope of gaining your trust and exploiting you. It’s important to always stay vigilant, and the tips below will help you understand what to look out for and verify if whoever contacted you is indeed a Coinmama employee.
Coinmama employee impersonators
Firstly, it is important to note that Coinmama is not associated with any third party trading-related services. We do not have a trading platform of our own and do not maintain any investment portfolios. We are not currently a wallet provider, and therefore do not hold coins or funds on your behalf.
Although we have a phone number, know that this line does not take live calls and will only let you leave voice messages. When we do make outbound phone calls to our customers, we will never ask for your login credentials, credit card details, sensitive personal data, wallet private keys, or remote access to your device.
How to avoid this type of scam
- Be sceptical of anyone contacting you out of the blue
- Notice when the “employee” wishes to communicate over Telegram, Whatsapp, Messenger, or Instagram direct message (we do not provide support over these channels)
- Ask the “employee” questions only Coinmama would know e.g. details of a previous transaction
